It attempts to balance the rights of copyright owners with the interests of online service providers such as ISPs, social media platforms, and website owners. Its two most significant sets of provisions are the one establishing a notice-and-takedown procedure for addressing claims of online copyright infringement and the one prohibiting circumvention of copyright protection measures.
